T. MITCHELL KALOM

General Background

Mr. T. Mitchell Kalom, CFP®, M.B.A, J.D., LL.M has 20 years of experience as a veteran negotiator, business consultant, real estate investor and entrepreneur. In counseling with, evaluating and crafting effective solutions to client needs, Kalom brings to bear his advanced degrees in business and law, tempered by years of real-world business experience. Kalom is fluent in Italian, and has a basic understanding of Spanish and Portuguese.

Mr. Kalom was born in Zion, Illinois in 1961 and shortly thereafter moved to Florence, Italy where he lived until age 11 when he returned to the United States. Mr. Kalom graduated from Ridgewood Preparatory School in Metairie, Louisiana in 1980; was graduated cum laude from Mississippi College in 1984; earned his Masters of Business Administration Degree from the Else School of Management in 1992; his Jurist Doctorate Degree from Mississippi College School of Law in 2006; and received an LL.M in Real Property Development from the University of Miami School of Law in 2007.

Mr. Kalom’s core areas of focus include, but are not limited to, business entities, contracts, real property development and litigation, insurance litigation, conflict resolution, strategic negotiation and deal crafting. In addition, Mr. Kalom’s extensive experience, spanning over twenty years, as a purchaser of Mississippi delinquent property tax liens allows him to provide indepth counsel to entities and individuals involved in or desiring to become active in the purchase of Mississippi delinquent property taxes, tax liens, tax certificates and tax deeds; Mr. Kalom also offers legal advice regarding tax title maturities; and tax title confirmation services for the confirmation of matured tax liens upon which tax deeds have been issued. Kalom also provides legal assistance with suits to set aside tax deeds, general proprety taxation litigation, environmental court representation and tax title litigation representation in Mississippi.
